Our Lady appeared 18 times in Lourdes, France to St. Bernadette in 1858. During the apparitions, Our Lady asked St. Bernadette to do penances, which resulted in a clear spring of water. Since that time, pilgrims to her shrine have been miraculously healed when blessed with the water at Lourdes.
